Longchamp is a French leather and luxury goods company

We should know that Longchamp Taschen was founded by Jean Cassegrain in 1948, and the company employed individual craftsmen dispersed throughout the Loire valley countryside to create leather coverings for pipes and other products geared toward smokers. By 1955, it had expanded to include small leather goods, opening its first factory in Segré. By the 1970s, Longchamp opened its first boutiques in Hong Kong and Japan, and became known for its lightweight travel goods.
In 1980, the founder's son and current company president, Philippe Cassegrain took the helm and began expanding its retail and factory locations into Belgium and Germany. The company also began producing clothing, scarves, and other fashion accessories.
In 1993, longchamp online shop introduced its "Le Pliage" line, a collection of foldable travel bags made of vinyl and leather trim. Its popularity has allowed the Longchamp brand to penetrate new markets abroad, including the United States.
Today, in addition to its heritage as a leather goods firm, Longchamp has cultivated a devoted following and brand that is now known for its designs. Venturing into partnerships with notable designers, artists and celebrities has seen the likes of Thomas Heatherwick design Longchamp's SoHo boutique, and Tracey Emin and model Kate Moss create special collections. Moss has also appeared in a number of Longchamp advertising campaigns.

Abercrombie & Fitch Tumbles After Cutting Annual Forecast

Abercrombie and Fitch Co. (ANF), the teen retailer with more than 1,000 stores, plunged to a three-year low after cutting its annual forecast yesterday, citing an anticipated drop in same-store sales in the second half of 2012.
The New Albany, Ohio-based company fell 15 percent to $29.06 at the close in New York, the lowest since July 31, 2009. With today’s drop, the biggest since November, the shares have declined 41 percent this year. Aeropostale Inc. (ARO), Abercrombie and Fitch amsterdam’s smaller rival, plummeted 33 percent, the most in almost a decade, after reporting preliminary second-quarter results that were lower than previously forecast.
Abercrombie and Fitch parijs, which got 20 percent of sales from Europe in the year ended Jan. 28, has lost revenue as the region is roiled by a sovereign-debt crisis and amid tepid consumer sentiment at home. Full-year earnings per share will be $2.50 to $2.75, compared to a previous projection of $3.50 to $3.75, the company said yesterday in a statement. Analysts had predicted an average of $3.36, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
“We believe weakness is more than just the economy, and can no longer justify a ‘free pass’ on continued execution errors,” Erika Maschmeyer, an analyst with Robert W. Baird & Co. in Chicago, wrote in a note yesterday, cutting her recommendation (Abercrombie and Fitch Nederland) on the stock to neutral from outperform. The retailer’s merchandise isn’t resonating with customers and the brand is pressured by value-oriented competitors, she wrote.
Abercrombie and Fitch outlet is “cannibalizing” business at its namesake stores with its less expensive Hollister Co. brand, Jennifer Davis, an analyst at Lazard Capital Markets, said in a telephone interview yesterday.

NIKE, Inc. : Nike Unveils Flyknit Performance Track Spike

The News Nike Free Run Flyknit Technology Combines Performance Innovation And Reduced Environmental Impact With New Track Spike

In February 2012, Nike Free Flyknit was unveiled - a revolutionary technology that enables running shoe uppers to be designed from single threads, which are precisely engineered only where needed for a featherweight, virtually seamless fit.

Now this technology has been developed for an exclusive distance track spike to be worn during competition by US 10,000 meter runner Dathan Ritzenheim. With all the structure and support knitted in, the new spike shares the same unique upper as the Nike Flyknit Racer shoe.

As part of Nike's commitment to combining high performance with environmentally sustainable design, the Nike Free Run 2 Flyknit Racer reduces waste in the manufacturing process, because the knitted part of the upper does not use cuts of multiple materials and sections found in traditional sports footwear.

Weighing just 110 grams (3.9oz), the new spike features a narrower fit specifically designed for track performance. Dynamic flywire structured zones on the upper providing support, breathability and a lightweight sock-like fit.

The Flashlon foam used in the midsole of the new spike provides lightweight, responsive cushioning and arch support for comfort over all track distances. "Combining ultra lightweight engineering of Nike Flyknit technology with the performance innovation of our track spikes creates a unique running proposition", said Martin Lotti, Nike Free Run 3 Global Creative Director. "Nike Flyknit is a breakthrough innovation for the design and development of running shoes and we're excited to be able to deliver this innovation for elite track athletes."

The Nike Free Run Norge Flyknit spike features an engineered Pebax? plate with four removable pins to provide lightweight support and maximize speed. The sharkskin heel pad enhances grip and traction while helping reduce the overall weight of the spike.
